NLDRIFT: Breaking Waves (Elbphilharmonie Hamburg)
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Hamburg's world-famous Elbphilharmonie concert hall, Drone Department captured the official cinematic aerial documentation of Studio Drift's monumental light art installation Breaking Waves. Hundreds of autonomous illuminated drones choreographed fluid, kinetic light waves wrapping around Herzog & de Meuron's architectural glass landmark above the River Elbe.
Our crew deployed specialized low-light cinema drone platforms to record the mesmerizing interplay between glowing drone swarms, reflective harbor waters, and live orchestral accompaniment by the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra.
This showcase demonstrates Drone Department's specialized capabilities in filming world-renowned drone shows and kinetic light installations within complex international maritime airspaces.
